Section III-6901 - Program CreationA. From federal funds, state funds, and/or funds made available from private or local sources for this purpose, the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is hereby authorized to establish a family violence program, hereafter called the "Family Violence Prevention and Intervention Program." This program is for the development of community based shelters and support services for victims of family violence, domestic violence, and dating violence. The Family Violence Prevention and Intervention Program is partially funded through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) block grant. The program meets TANF goal 4 to encourage the formation and maintenance of two-parent families. DCFS will be responsible for the administration of available funding to selected program providers.B. DCFS will administer the program to do the following: 1. establish immediate and full-time trauma informed shelters for victims of family violence, domestic violence, and dating violence and their dependents; and2. increase, improve, and coordinate the delivery of comprehensive support services to victims of family violence, domestic violence, and dating violence.La.
