Section I-1703 - Effect of ReinstatementA. Employees reinstated into state government shall be entitled to purchase service credit as provided in this Chapter, and the employee shall be treated as if he was a member during this period of purchased service credit, except that the reinstated employee will not be entitled to partial repurchase provisions for the service credit that is reinstated through legal action.B. The reinstated employee's date of hire prior to the wrongful termination shall be used for retirement purposes, if any contribution refund that the member received is repaid not later than the sixtieth day following the first day the member returns to work after reinstatement is ordered. If the member repays all or any portion of such contribution refund after the sixtieth day following the first day the member returns to work after reinstatement is ordered, the repayment shall be treated in the same manner as a payment for any other refund and the date of hire for retirement purposes shall be the first day the member returns to work after reinstatement is ordered.La.
