Section IX-171 - Storage Capacity RequirementsA. The minimum capacity of above ground ASME storage containers shall be 100 gallon tank capacity for each 100,000 BTU appliance load. Tankless water heaters shall be rated at 50 percent of their input rating when calculating appliance load. Exception: D.O.T. Containers of 4 lbs. though 100 lbs. capacity are exempt from this requirement when connected to small portable appliances or outdoor cooking appliances with input ratings of 100,000 btu/hr. or less. Other exceptions to this rule shall be approved by the director.La. Admin. Code tit. 55, § IX-171
