Section XXIV-909 - Bacterial Quality [formerly paragraph 24:021]A. Swimming Pools. Not more than 15 percent of the samples collected on each two consecutive occasions shall contain more than 200 bacteria per ml. nor shall such samples show positive test (confirmed) for the coli-aerogenes group, in any of 5, 10 ml. portions of water at times when the pool is in use. All primary fermentation tubes showing gas should be confirmed. The state health officer may approve other EPA approved methods for bacteriological and the coli-aerogenes group testing.B. Bathing Beaches/Places. The coliform group is not to exceed 1,000 per 100 ml. as a monthly geometric average value, nor exceed this number in 20 percent of the samples examined during any month nor exceed 2,400 per 100 ml. on any day. The fecal coliform (either MPN or MF) count shall not exceed 200 per 100 ml. as a 30-day geometric mean based on not less than five samples during any 30-day period nor exceed 400 per 100 ml. in more than 10 percent of all samples during any 30-day period.La.
