Section XII-341 - Separation of Water Mains and Sewer Mains [formerly paragraph 12:015]A. Sewer and water mains shall be laid in separate trenches not less than 6 feet apart horizontally, when installed in parallel. Crossing water and sewer mains shall have a minimum vertical separation of 18 inches. In cases where it is not possible to maintain a 6 foot horizontal separation, the state health officer may allow a waiver of this requirement on a case by case basis if supported by data from the design engineer.La.
