Section XXII-4101 - PurposeA. As a result of the devastation caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, many Louisiana health care providers have incurred costs in furnishing medical services and supplies to hurricane evacuees and other affected individuals who do not have health care coverage through insurance or any other financial mechanism. The purpose of the uncompensated care costs (UCC) pool is to provide reimbursement to health care providers through federal financial participation for services rendered for which there is no other source of payment.La.
