Section I-235 - Label Exemptions from Misbranding Provisions [Formerly 49:2.0170]A. Labels of food packages shall be exempt from compliance with the requirements of Section 608, (5), (b) of the Act if: 1. the quantity of the contents, as expressed in terms applicable to the food under the provisions of §213 is less than one-half ounce avoirdupois, or less than one-half fluid ounce, or if there are less than six units in case the units of the food can be easily counted without opening the package;2. the container is so small that the statement of the quantity of the contents of the package, together with all other words, statements and information required by or under authority of the Act to appear on the label, cannot, because of insufficient area for larger label space, be placed on the label so as to comply with the requirements of Section 608 (c) of the Act and regulations promulgated thereunder.La.
