Section I-8223 - Pharmaceutical ServicesA. Hospice provides for the pharmaceutical needs of the patient, consistent with the Board of Pharmacy regulations.1. Agency shall institute procedures which protect the patient from medication errors.2. Agency shall provide verbal and written instruction to patient and family as indicated.3. Drugs and treatments are administered by agency staff only as ordered by the licensed medical practitioner. B. Hospice ensures the appropriate monitoring and supervision of pharmaceutical services and has written policies and procedures governing prescribing, dispensing, administering, controlling, storing and disposing of all biologicals and drugs in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.C. Hospice ensures timely pharmaceutical services on a 24 hour a day/seven day a week basis that include provision of drugs, biologicals and infusion services which are consistent with patient's individual drug profile.D. Hospice provides the IDT and the patient/family with coordinated information and instructions about individual drug profiles.La. Admin. Code tit. 48, § I-8223
