Section XI-320 - Boxing Ring and RopesA. The boxing ring shall not be less than 16 feet nor more than 24 feet square within the ropes. The ring floor must extend at least 18 inches beyond the ropes. The ring floor must be padded with ensolite not less than 1 inch in thickness. Padding must extend beyond the ring ropes and over the edge of the platform, with a top covering of canvas, tightly stretched and laced to the ring platform. Material that tends to gather in lumps or ridges must not be used. The ring platform shall be approximately 4 feet above the floor of the building, and shall be provided with suitable steps for use of contestants. Ring post shall be of metal, not more than 4 inches in diameter, extending from the floor of the building to a height of 58 inches above the ring floor. Corners shall have protective padding extending from the top to the bottom rope.B. Ring ropes shall be at least four in number, not less than 1 inch in diameter. Ring ropes shall be suitably covered with soft material and shall be securely fastened to the ring post with adjustable turnbuckles.
