Section XI-4557 - Compression EquipmentA. Adequate ventilation must be provided in compressor station buildings to prevent the accumulation of carbon dioxide vapors and/or vapors that could be dangerous. Warning devices must be installed to warn of the presence of such vapors in the compression station building.B. The following must be provided in each compressor station: 1. safety devices that prevent over-pressuring of compression equipment, including the auxiliary compression equipment within the compression station;2. a device for the emergency shutdown of each compression/ station;3. if power is necessary to actuate the safety devices, an auxiliary power supply.C. Each safety device must be tested under conditions approximating actual operations and found to function properly before the compression station may be used.D. Except for offshore pipelines, compression equipment may not be installed: 1. on any property that will not be under the control of the operator; or2. less than 50 feet from the boundary of the station.E.
