Section LIII-511 - Standard 5A. The physically literate individual recognizes the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction. 1. Intent: The intent of this standard is to develop a student who is able to compare the health benefits of a variety of physical activities. Students are able to express enjoyment and/or the willingness to participate in physical activities that are new and different. Students will view physical activity as an opportunity for social interaction across the lifespan.B. Grade Level Expectations Grades 3-5 1. Health Reasons to be Physically Activea. Third Grade i. [5.3-1.1] Discuss the relationship between physical activity and good health.b. Fourth Grade i. [5.4-1.1] Examine the health benefits of participating in physical activity.c. Fifth Grade i.
