Section CXV-3503 - Public High School Program of ChoiceA. The governing authority of each public high school shall work to grow programs of choice as defined by R.S. 17:4035.2.B. A student may enroll in a program of choice offered within the assigned school district, without regard to attendance zones, contingent upon the following: 1. the program of choice and the high school offering the program have available capacity at the appropriate grade level;2. the program of choice is not offered at the public high school in which the student was most recently enrolled or would otherwise attend;3. the enrollment of the student in the public school of choice does not violate an order of a court of competent jurisdiction; and4. the student meets the published admission requirements, if any, of the program of choice.C. The governing authority of each public high school shall include in the district policy regarding student transfers:1. a definition of capacity for each program of choice;2. admission requirements, if any, for each program of choice; and3. the process for requesting BESE review of any denied request to transfer to a program of choice.La.
