Section CXLI-107 - ConclusionA. Louisiana's content standards, assessments, and accountability have been major components of the Louisiana education reform program for several years. The more recent addition of the GLEs has further defined what Louisiana students are expected to know and do. As an extension of the content standards, benchmarks, and GLEs, the Extended Standards provide links from curriculum to instruction and to assessment for the LAA 1 student population. The primary goal of the Extended Standards Handbook is a common understanding among parents, students, teachers, and the general public about what is expected of Louisiana students with significant cognitive disabilities as they progress in school.La.
