Section XV-733 - The Decision to Enter a Plea of GuiltyA. Counsel should inform the client of any tentative negotiated agreement reached with the prosecution, and explain to the client the full content of the agreement, and the advantages and disadvantages of the potential consequences of the agreement.B. The decision to enter a plea of guilty rests solely with the client, and counsel should not attempt to unduly influence that decision.C. If the client is a juvenile, consideration should be given to the request that a guardian be appointed to advise the juvenile if an adult family member is not available to act in a surrogate role.D.
