Section V-117 - Employee Assistance Program (EAP)A. Early recognition and treatment of drug abuse or dependency are essential to successful rehabilitation. Employees experiencing a substance abuse problem are encouraged to seek assistance from the department's EAP coordinator within the human resources division. Any such involvement will be held in strict confidence, but employees should know that supervisors and appointing authorities (who need to know) will be kept abreast of the employee's treatment and leave needs.B. Employees referred to the EAP coordinator by supervisory personnel or who, as a condition of continued employment, participate in a substance abuse rehabilitation program will be subject to the return-to-duty/rehabilitation monitoring testing set forth in these rules.La.
