Section III-301 - Preamble and PurposeA. Workforce Development and Training is vital to support the state's commitment to Targeted Industry Based Economic Development, and the state's long-term goals as set forth in Louisiana: Vision 2020, which is the Master Plan for Economic Development for the state of Louisiana.B. The purpose of the program is to provide a source of funding in order to enable the development of and provide customized workforce training programs for existing and prospective employees of existing and prospective Louisiana businesses as a means of improving the competitiveness and productivity of Louisiana's workforce and business community; and to assist Louisiana businesses in promoting employment stability.La.
