Section 9-28-1 - DefinitionsAs used in these regulations, the terms below shall have the following definitions.
(a) "Brucella ovis" means an infectious, contagious disease of sheep characterized by ram epididymitis. (b) "Brucella ovis-free flock" means a flock of sheep in which all test-eligible rams annually have two negative serology tests 45 to 120 days apart. (c) "Individual identification" means any of the following: (1) an official United States department of agriculture metal ear tag; or (2)(C) a physical description; or (D) any other means that clearly identifies the animal. (d) "Official serology test" means the follow-ing: (1) the collection of samples by a licensed, federally accredited veterinarian; and (2) the submission of the samples to a laboratory registered with the animal health department and approved by the livestock commissioner to conduct tests to identify brucella ovis. (e) "Test-eligible ram" means any ram six months of age or older that was not born in the year of the test. Kan. Admin. Regs. § 9-28-1
