Section 28-18a-26 - Requirements for swine facility operator certification

Each operator of a swine facility with an animal unit capacity of 1,000 or more that is required to have a permit shall obtain a swine waste management and swine pollution control system operator certificate. Each swine operator that desires or is required to obtain a swine facility operator certificate shall meet the following requirements:

(a) Each applicant shall be a swine facility operator who maintains or supervises a swine waste management or swine pollution control system.
(b) Each swine facility operator shall submit a complete application and the appropriate fee to the department. The application shall be received by the department at least two weeks before the scheduled examination date. Late applications shall not be accepted for the scheduled examination date.
(c) If an applicant provides false information on an application, the applicant shall not be accepted for examination, and the fee submitted with the application shall not be returned to the applicant. The applicant shall be notified of the decision denying acceptance for examination and shall not be allowed to take the examination for two consecutive years.
