Rule 661-402.305 - Board review

(1)Review of rejection of certification of service credit. The board shall review a rejected certification of service credit. If the board overrules the rejection, the secretary shall submit the certification of service credit to the actuary to determine the member's cost to purchase permissive service credit. If the board sustains the rejection, the member may appeal the action pursuant to 661-subrule 401.2(2).

(2)Review of rejection of application to purchase service credit. The board shall review any application to purchase service credit which has been rejected. If the board overrules the action, the secretary shall process the application pursuant to subrule 402.303(3). If the board sustains the rejection, the secretary shall return the payment to the member. The member may appeal the action pursuant to 661-subrule 401.2(2).
