Rule 61-9.33 - [Effective 12/18/2024] Emergency award of compensationEmergency awards of compensation may be made if the applicant has incurred a loss of income or pecuniary loss as a direct result of the crime.
(1)Preliminary eligibility determination. The program must determine that the application is likely to be eligible based on documentation available including, at a minimum, the law enforcement verification form provided to law enforcement by the program.(2)Documentation. To make an emergency award of compensation, the program must have documentation of the lost wages or the pecuniary loss.(3)Emergency award decision. A decision denying an emergency award shall not be appealable.(4)Offset. Any emergency award shall be deducted from the final award of compensation made to the claimant.Iowa Admin. Code r. 61-9.33
