Rule 571-39.3 - Vessels not containing capacity rating information

In the registration of vessels for which no passenger capacity information has been provided by the U. S. Coast Guard or the manufacturer, the passenger capacity designated on the registration shall be O.R., "Operators Responsibility." The responsibility for determining passenger capacity of a vessel so designated shall rest with the operator of the vessel. Such operation must comply with the provisions of Iowa Code section 462A.12(1).
