Rule 441-113.9 - Involvement of kin
(1)Support by foster parents. Foster parents shall support the involvement of biological or adoptive parents and other relatives of the child(ren) unless this involvement is evaluated and documented by the department to be detrimental to the child(ren)'s well-being.
(2)Nature of involvement. The extent and nature of the involvement of the biological or adoptive parents and other relatives shall be determined by the caseworker in consultation with the foster parents, biological or adoptive parents, and others involved with the child(ren) and family.
(3)Cultural connections. Throughout the provision of care, the foster family shall actively ensure that the child(ren) stay connected to the child(ren)'s kin, culture, and community as required in the child(ren)'s case permanency plan.

This rule is intended to implement Iowa Code section 237.3.
