Sec. 2.
(a) In order to claim the business personal property tax exemption, every person, including any firm, company, partnership, association, corporation, fiduciary, or individual owning, holding, possessing, or controlling business personal property with a total acquisition cost that is less than forty thousand dollars ($40,000) within the county on January 1 of any year is required to declare the exemption using a personal property return Form 103-Short, Form 103-Long, Form 102, or Form 104, as applicable.(b) An eligible taxpayer is not required to complete the entire personal property return to claim the business personal property tax exemption.
