Sec. 10.
(a) The department may make substitutions for education and experience provided in the application if the minimum requirements for the desired classification of operator certification in section 9 of this rule are not met.(b) Education that exceeds the minimum educational requirements can be substituted for the experience requirements in section 9 of this rule.(c) Acceptable experience that exceeds the minimum experience requirements can be substituted for the educational requirement in section 9 of this rule.(d) The department shall consider the following information in determining if a substitution is approvable:(1) Subject matter of course work completed and how it relates to wastewater treatment.(2) Hours of course work completed that are applicable to wastewater treatment or a related field of study.(3) Type of experience in wastewater treatment or a related field of work.(4) Amount of time completed in wastewater treatment experience or experience in a related field of work.(5) Other information relevant to the ability of the applicant to perform the duties of a certified operator.(e) In accordance with 327 IAC 8-12-3.2(e), Grade WT 3, Grade WT 4, and Grade WT 5 operators are considered to have met the educational requirements necessary to take the Class A-SO wastewater treatment certification examination.Water Pollution Control Division; 327 IAC 5-23-10; filed 11/6/2023, 10:44 a.m.: 20231206-IR-327180365FRAReadopted filed 10/18/2024, 1:57 p.m.: 20241113-IR-327230810RFA
