Section 326 IAC 13-2.1-5 - Penalties

Sec. 5.

(a) Violation of section 3(a)(1), 3(a)(2), 3(a)(4), or 3(b) of this rule subjects the owner or operator to suspension or revocation of the registration for the tampered vehicle by the bureau of motor vehicles. The tampered vehicle is not thereafter eligible for registration until the tampered device has been restored, replaced, or repaired.

(b) Any person found to be in violation of sections 3(a), 3(b), or 4 of this rule shall be subject to a civil penalty of not more than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) per violation.

(c) Any person found to be in violation of section 3(c) of this rule shall be subject to a civil penalty of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000) per violation.
