Sec. 4.

"Design storm event" means the depth of precipitation that is used to calculate the volume and time distribution of runoff from a watershed that a spillway system must safely pass without jeopardizing the safety of the dam. The depth of precipitation typically ranges from fifty percent (50%) to one hundred percent (100%) of probable maximum precipitation, depending upon the hazard classification.
