Section 24.39.40.002 - ADOPTION AND INCORPORATION BY REFERENCE01.Documents. The following codes, amendments, and updates are hereby adopted and incorporated by reference into these rules for all conveyances subject to this chapter.a. ANSI/ASME A17.1 2016, Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators with the following exceptions: i. Compliance with section 2.8.3.3.2 requires that the means for disconnecting the main power, as required by this section, to be within sight of controller for all conveyances with an elevator machine room or control room.ii. Compliance with section 8.11.2.1.5(c) Car and Counterweight Buffer testing must be conducted at slow speed in accordance with Item 5.9.2.1(a) in ANSI/ASME A17.2 2014.iii. Compliance with Section 2.2.2.5, which requires a sump pump or drain in the elevator pit, is optional. If a sump pump or drain is installed, it must meet the requirements of this section.
