Section 8-60-6 - Assistive technology(a) The department shall ensure that assistive technology devices or assistive technology services, or both, as those terms are defined in section 8-60-2, are made available to a student with a disability if required as a part of the student's special education, related services, or supplementary aids and services, under section 8-60-2.(b) On a case-by-case basis, the use of school-purchased assistive technology devices in a student's home or in other settings is required if the student's IEP team determines that the student needs access to those devices in order to receive FAPE.[Eff 11/23/09] (Auth: 20 U.S.C. 1412(a)(1), 1412(a)(12)(B)(i); HRS § 302A-1112) (Imp: 34 C.F.R. §300.105 )
