No geographic exception or revocation of geographic exception shall be granted except in accordance with this chapter. The placement of an exceptional student, under the provisions of chapter 8-56, shall not require a geographic exception. This chapter does not apply to "McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Improvements Act of 2001" eligible students (i.e., homeless students), unless they seek enrollment at a school other than the school of origin or the home school.
