Section 6-81-8 - Continuance of basic serviceOn the effective date of this chapter, the incumbent telecommunications carrier shall continue to provide basic service in the geographical or exchange areas it is then serving, unless:
(1) It is allowed to discontinue the service pursuant to chapter 6-80, subchapter 10;(2) The customer chooses another telecommunications carrier as its provider of such service; or(3) Another telecommunications carrier is designated by the commission as a carrier of last resort for a given high cost area, pursuant to subchapter 6.[Eff ] (Auth: HRS §§ 269-6, 269-35, 269-38, 269-41 to 43) (Imp: HRS §§ 269-35, 269-38, 269-41 to 43, 47 U.S.C. §254 )
