Haw. Code R. § 6-24-12
In computing any period of time prescribed or allowed by this chapter, or any order of the board, the day of the act, event, or default after which the designated period of time is to run shall not be included. The last day of the period shall be included unless it is a Saturday Sunday, or legal holiday in the State, in which event the period of time runs until the end of the next day which is neither a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday Intermediate Saturdays, Sundays, or legal holidays shall not be included in the computation when the period of time prescribed or allowed is seven days or less. A half holiday shall not be considered a holiday for purposes of these computations. All references in this chapter to days shall mean calendar days, unless otherwise expressed.
