Section 4-16-23 - Post-shipment entry requirements
(a) Imported sheep shall be inspected by a state veterinarian or an agent before being granted entry into the State. Any indication of transmissible disease at the time of inspection shall be sufficient reason to quarantine any or all of the sheep in the shipment at premises approved by the state veterinarian. Animals shall not be released or permitted entry into the State until the state veterinarian is satisfied that they are free of symptoms of transmissible diseases and external parasites.
(b) All expenses in connection with the segregation and treatment or destruction and disposal of the quarantined animals shall be borne by the owner, importer, or consignee.
