Section 17-798.3-68 - Administration of medication(a) When medication prescribed by a health care professional is administered by the provider or provider's staff:(1) The child's parent or guardian shall give written permission to the provider to administer medication;(2) The medication shall be kept in the original container bearing the prescription label which shows a current date, the health care professional's directions for use, and the child's name; and(b) When over-the-counter medication is administered by the provider or provider's staff: (1) The child's parent or guardian shall give written permission to the provider to administer medication;(2) The child's parent, guardian, or a health care professional shall give written directions to the provider for the administration of the medication.(c) All medication shall be stored out of the reach of the children and shall be returned to parents or guardians when no longer in use.
