Section 11-26-35 - Rodents; demolishing of structure and clearing of sites and vacant lots(a) No person, firm, or corporation shall demolish or clear any structure, site, or vacant lot without first ascertaining the presence or absence of rodents which may endanger the public health by dispersal from such premises.(b) Should any such inspection reveal the presence of rodents, the person, firm, or corporation shall eradicate the rodents before demolishing or clearing the structure, site, or vacant lot.(c) The department may conduct an independent inspection to monitor compliance, or request a written report.(d) Vacant lots and ground not built upon shall be kept free of harborages.(e) Any person, firm, or corporation applying for a demolition or land clearing permit shall be assessed an application fee of $25 per application at the time of filing, payable to the director of health.
