Rule 8-B734 - ACADEMIC STANDARDS: UNIVERSITY COLLEGE
734.1

A freshman student enrolled in the University College shall be required to achieve a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 or a term GPA of better than 2.00 by the end of the third term of his or her enrollment (summer terms included).

734.2

A student who has less than a 2.00 cumulative GPA after three (3) terms shall be required to achieve a GPA of better than 2.00 each subsequent term of enrollment.

734.3

After three (3) semesters, a student enrolled in the University College shall be governed by the policy applicable to all other students.

734.4

A freshman student enrolled for three (3) terms, including summer, who has a cumulative GPA of less than 2.00 and who fails to achieve a term GPA of better than 2.00 shall be subject to suspension from the University.

734.5

Until a student in the University College achieves a 2.00 cumulative GPA, he or she shall abide by the following course load restrictions:

(a) GPA below 1.6 after the first semester of enrollment - Course load of nine (9) semester hours during the next semester of enrollment;
(b) GPA from 1.6 to 1.8 after the first semester of enrollment - Course load of twelve (12) semester hours during the next semester; and
(c) Cumulative GPA below 1.8 after the second semester of enrollment - Course load of nine (9) semester hours during the next semester of enrollment.
