Rule 8-B712 - THE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE
712.1

All applicants for admission to the first year class as regular students of the University shall enroll in the University College.

712.2

The University College shall introduce students to the University with a high quality program in a general educational environment that is supportive and professional.

712.3

The standards and expectations of the University shall be clarified for students entering the University College.

712.4

Basic University-wide requirements (or general educational courses) shall be offered by the University College. Course offerings shall be differentiated according to student needs.

712.5

Continuous monitoring of student progress through both counseling and testing shall be provided by the University College to assess academic competence and to plan or modify the student's program of study.

712.6

A specified number of required credits shall be completed by students at the University College level and competency-based examinations shall be passed before admission to the upper college.

712.7

All faculty shall have responsibilities to the University College; however, faculty members shall hold appointments in the academic departments of the University.
