The University shall dispose of personal property whenever the Accountable Property Officer determines that it is in the University's best interest to do so.
The University shall dispose of personal property by transferring, auctioning, selling, exchanging or dumping.
The Accountable Property Officer shall make a written determination and findings to evidence the decision that disposal of property is in the University's best interest.
If for any reason related to the protection of public health or safety any article of personal property or supply should be declared to be unsalable by the Accountable Property Officer, the property shall be safely disposed of.
The Accountable Property Officer shall exercise discretion, through written determinations and findings, in selecting the type of procedure to be used in the sale, auction or disposition of surplus personal property, based on the character of the property to be disposed, its value and the best interests of the University, when all factors are considered.
The Accountable Property Officer may negotiate the sale of any personal property, upon a written determination and finding, for the fair market value of any personal property.
The Accountable Property Officer may provide University personal property for trade-in on the purchase of any supplies or personal property.
