Reappointment authority shall be consistent with the appointment authority.
Each recommendation for reappointment and non-reappointment shall originate at the department level.
Each reappointment shall be contingent upon satisfying the general criteria for the evaluation of faculty members and the specific criteria for a particular rank.
If a faculty member is recommended for non-reappointment, the reasons for that recommendation shall be given in writing to the faculty member.
Each contract for reappointment shall be for a definite period of service.
Notice of non-reappointment, or notice of intention to recommended reappointment, shall be given in writing to each regular full-time faculty member in his or her first year of service, as follows:
