All full-time employees shall be eligible to apply for leave-without-pay for educational purposes not to exceed one (1) year at a time.
Educational leave may be granted for the following purposes:
An employee who applies for and is granted educational leave shall be required to enter into an agreement to return to full-time work at the University upon completion of the leave period for at least one (1) full year.
A non-faculty employee may be granted educational leave with pay if he or she has been associated with the University for at least six (6) years and provides evidence of admission to a professional program of study at a college, university, approved research program, or other appropriate educational activity.
An employee shall apply for educational leave by submitting to the appropriate dean or supervisor a written plan outlining the activity to be undertaken during the leave.
A faculty employee's health insurance shall be maintained during the period of approved educational leave.
