Rule 6-B410 - SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITIONS - GENERAL PROVISIONS410.1 In addition to the general suitability screening, individuals applying for or occupying safety sensitive positions are subject to the following checks and tests:
(a) Criminal background check;(b) Traffic record check (as applicable);(c) Pre-employment drug and alcohol test;(d) Reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol test;(e) Post-accident or incident drug and alcohol test;(f) Random drug and alcohol test; and(g) Return-to-duty or follow-up drug and alcohol test.410.2 Subject to the requirements of § 409.1(a),examples of safety sensitive duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
(a) Operating large trucks, heavy or power machinery, or mass transit vehicles, tools, or equipment;(b) Handling hazardous quantities of chemical, biological or nuclear materials;(c) Maintaining the safety of patrons in and around a pool or aquatic area;(d) Engaging in duties directly related to the public safety, including, but not limited to, responding or coordinating responses to emergency events;(e) Carrying a firearm; and(f) Direct care and custody of children, youth, or other vulnerable persons, which may affect their health, welfare, or safety.D.C.
