Rule 6-B1270 - DECLARED EMERGENCIES-IN GENERAL1270.1 During a declared emergency, the following situations may occur:
(a) In response to circumstances that develop while employees are at work, employees may be dismissed early as provided in Section 1272 of this chapter;(b) In response to circumstances that develop prior to normal duty hours, employees may be authorized to take unscheduled leave, unscheduled telework, or arrive late to work, as provided in Section 1273 of this chapter; and(c) In response to circumstances that arise prior to normal duty hours, there may be a shut-down of District government operations as provided in Section 1274 of this chapter.1270.2 The Mayor may declare an emergency whenever he or she deems it to be appropriate and in the public interest.
