Rule 5-E906 - OPENING OF A PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL
906.1

A public charter school that has been granted full approval by the Board of Education shall not open as a public charter school until the Board has issued a letter authorizing such. Such clearance shall be based on the fulfillment of all requirements including the facility inspection by the District government and a certificate of occupancy. (See § 931)

906.2

Within ten (10) days of the submission of documentation of readiness for opening by the public charter school and not later than thirty (30) days prior to the scheduled opening for students, the Board of Education shall issue a letter authorizing the approved public charter school to open.

906.3

A public charter school applicant/interim board of trustees that opens a "public charter school" without full approval of the Board and/or in violation of its charter shall not be recognized as a public charter school and shall not be entitled to local appropriations or other funds that accrue to public charter schools.
