Rule 5-E1220 - INCENTIVE AWARDS
1220.1

It shall be the policy of the Board of Education to provide incentive awards, monetary or honorary, to employees or groups of employees for suggestions, inventions, superior accomplishments, length of service, and other meritorious efforts which contribute to the efficiency, economy, or otherwise improve the operation of the D.C. Public Schools.

1220.2

The incentive awards program is established for the purpose of recognizing and rewarding quality performance above and beyond normal expectations.

1220.3

To the extent that funds are appropriated, cash awards may be provided not to exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000).

1220.4

The Superintendent is authorized to establish a procedure whereby awards are granted; Provided that any monetary award in excess of five hundred dollars ($500) made to an individual must be approved by the Board of Education.
