Each LEA shall make physical education services, adapted if necessary, available to every child with a disability receiving FAPE, including any supplementary aids and services or modifications necessary for a child's successful participation in the general or adapted physical education program, unless the LEA does not provide physical education to children without disabilities in the same grade or program.
Adapted physical education may include, but is not limited to, the development of physical fitness, motor fitness, fundamental motor skills and patterns, skills in aquatics, dance, individual and group games, and sports.
Each child with a disability shall be afforded the opportunity to participate with children without disabilities in the general physical education program unless:
If adapted physical education is prescribed in the child's IEP, the LEA shall provide the physical education services directly or make arrangements for those services to be provided through an alternative public or private provider.
The LEA shall ensure that a child with a disability who is educated fulltime in a separate facility receives appropriate physical education services or adapted physical education services, in compliance with this section.
