Rule 4-102 - POLICY
102.1

It shall be the policy of the Government of the District of Columbia in connection with any aspect of District government employment to do the following:

(a) To prohibit sexual harassment;
(b) To prohibit retaliation for filing Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints;
(c) To provide equal employment opportunity for all persons; and
(d) To prohibit discrimination in employment because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status, personal appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, family responsibilities, matriculation, political affiliation, genetic information, and disability.
102.2

Sufficient resources shall be provided to administer the District's EEO program in a positive and effective manner.

102.3

A continuing program shall be conducted to eradicate every form of prejudice or discrimination with respect to any aspect of District government employment based upon race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status, personal appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, family responsibilities, matriculation, political affiliation, genetic information, and disability.

102.4

The head of each District government agency subject to the Act shall be required to take affirmative action within that agency to assure equal opportunity in every aspect of employment.
