Rule 3-1304 - APPOINTMENT OR ELECTION
1304.1

Upon conclusion of the five (5) day nominating petition challenge period, the Executive Director or his or her designee shall certify the list of qualified candidates to fill the vacancy.

1304.2

If there is only one qualified candidate to fill the vacancy, the Executive Director shall certify the office as being filled by notice published in the District of Columbia Register.

1304.3

If more than one qualified candidate is certified, the Executive Director shall transmit the list of qualified candidates to the affected area Advisory Neighborhood Commission. The Commission shall give notice at a public meeting of the time and location for the election of the new commissioner. After the vacancy has been filled, the Commission shall transmit to the Board a resolution signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Advisory Neighborhood Commission that states the winner of the election and requests that the Board certify the vacancy as filled by notice published in the District of Columbia Register.
