Rule 29-8400 - PURPOSE

The purpose of this chapter is to help protect foster children from identity theft.

Authority: The Interim Director of the Child and Family Services Agency, acting pursuant to section 303(a)(16)(E) of the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect Act of 1977, effective September 23, 1977 (D.C. Law 2-22; D.C. Official Code §§ 4-1301.01, et seq. (2008 Repl. & 2011 Supp.)), and section 2 of the Foster Care Youth Identity Protection Amendment Act of 2010 (Act), effective May 27, 2010 (D.C. Law 18-162; D.C. Official Code § 4-1303.03(a)(16)(A) (2011 Supp.)), and Mayor's Order 2010-154, dated September 9, 2010.
