Rule 29-3103 - SELECTION CRITERIA
3103.1

To participate in the Nurses Training Corps, a person shall meet all of the following selection criteria:

(a) Be a bona fide resident of the District of Columbia for two (2) years immediately prior to application to the Corps;
(b) Have a stated interest in nursing and public service in the field of nursing within the District;
(c) Have proof of admission or enrollment as a full-time student in a District of Columbia institution of higher education that has a Department, School or College of Nursing or a course of study in nursing and is currently accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency or association;
(d) Pursue a course of study leading to a certificate or degree in the field of nursing that is not a course of graduate study; and
(e) Have a financial need as computed under the college scholarship needs analysis or needs analysis approved by the Director.
3103.2

In making a final selection among competing applicants that meet the above criteria, the Director shall consider the following factors:

(a) Student graduates with a 2.5 or better Grade Point Average or General Equivalency Diploma equivalent;
(b) Number of available slots at the educational institution of choice;
(c) Level of financial assistance needed; and
(d) Date of completed application.
