Rule 29-2905 - EVALUATION OF SERVICES
2905.1

In evaluating the appropriateness of particular services to be provided under the Act, the Department shall first consider those protective services that encourage maximum self-determination and are least restrictive of the adult's personal liberty.

2905.2

In evaluating what protective services shall be provided under the Act, the Department shall give priority to programs which may be provided at no cost to the adult and the District.

2905.3

In evaluating what protective services shall be provided under the Act, the Department shall minimize costs to the District and to the adult served, to the extent practicable and consistent with the objective of providing service reasonably calculated to remedy or substantially reduce the likelihood of abuse, neglect or exploitation by others.

2905.4

The APS worker shall seek to utilize programs for which payment or reimbursement is possible under Medicaid, Medicare, or third party insurance.

2905.5

The District shall not be required to pay for or provide any type of service not otherwise made available by the District government, provided that the Department shall help arrange for the service by other entities if no costs, other than arrangement costs, accrue to the District.
