Rule 22-B6801 - GENERAL LICENSES: SOURCE MATERIALS
6801.1

A general license shall be granted for the use and transfer of not more than fifteen (15) pounds of source material at one (1) time by persons in the following categories:

(a) Pharmacists using the source material solely for the compounding of medicinals;
(b) Physicians using the source material for medicinal purposes;
(c) Persons receiving possession of source material from pharmacists and physicians in the form of medicinals or drugs; and
(d) Commercial and industrial firms, and research, educational and medical institutions for research, development, educational, or commercial purposes.
6801.2

Pursuant to the issuance of a general license, no person shall receive more than a total of one hundred fifty (150) pounds of source material in any one (1) calendar year.

6801.3

Each person who receives, possesses, uses, or transfers source material pursuant to the general license issued in § 6801.1 is exempt from the radiation standards issued by the Director to the extent that the receipt, possession, use, or transfer is within the terms of the general license; Provided, that this exception shall not be deemed to apply to any person who is also in possession of source material under a specific license issued pursuant to this chapter.

6801.4

A general license shall be granted for the receipt of title to source material without regard to quantity.

6801.5

The general license issued under this section shall not authorize any person to receive, possess, use, or transfer source material.
